May 4, 2015 - East of Salina Kansas US
There was significant risk on this day for severe weather in Northeast Kansas. Its a hop skip and jump for us. Ok actually its about a 4 hour drive to get into position.
30% chance of Tornadic activity and I had the day off to do some chasing. Didn't blink an eye and we were off to Eastern / Central Kansas. We were in time for the storms as they were building most of the afternoon as we converged on Salina Kansas area.
Disappointed.... It became a bust ... as the severe warnings were replaced with flash flood warnings and the storms lost their severity about 630 7:00pm. Still a good lightning show and a few good snaps made this day worth its time.
NebraskaSC = Nebraska Storm Chaser I've been chasing storms since the early 80's, out in the plains of Nebraska. A passion to capture the moments that mother nature brings every spring summer and fall to South Central Nebraska. Yes I chase the storms, but I don't travel all that far to get these superb captures of natures fury. I seem to have a knack to be in the right place at the right time. I'm not egotistical, my photography is an extension of what I call art. Since I cannot draw, or paint, but I can get to the right place at the right time when severe weather approaches. These are a collection of my doing so.
