Description
August 11, 2019 - Hwy 34 East of Wray Colorado
On the hunt for Severe Weather after about a month off of chasing. Though, always prepared and ready to go on another storm chasing adventure, once the storm models look favorable I was off to Eastern Colorado!
Exiting the Belly of the Beast... we had to find a better route to get back in front of these severe thunderstorm cells. Hwy 34 East via Laird Colorado and then into Nebraska. Next stop was just to the west of Haigler Nebraska. Where there is no cell reception ... which means no radar data and no calls. Had to do this old school, which is fine by me. I didn't have smart phones and or instant data for storms before 1995. Though my partner in training was a little concerned but we had it covered!
I know my stuff when it comes to severe weather... We had a short time to wait till the next funnel cloud dropped! We were in for a photographic supercell treat! Round 3
