Artist's Description

May 24, 2016 - South of Hayes Kansas, US

Another Moderate Risk Day in Central and Western Kansas. This was the day of the Dodge City Kansas tornadoes.

I was late to the game again. Though I had 4 hours to get to my destination and a a few for chasing... and 4 to get back.

Once there...I Was in 3 tornado warning watch boxes at the same time and I had no connection to internet when this all took place. Guess I wasn't the only chaser with that problem that day... All not good, with the torrential, horizontal rain and the quarter sized hail. I only had time to take a few shots between the rain bands.

I was to far north to catch the incredible structure on the back end of this storm...

It was in the end a bust. I traveled all that way for nothing but you take that chance every time you chase. Though as most of you know, I'm not always about catching the tornadoes. Structure and viewing the best photographic view points is really what I'm after....

About NebraskaSC

NebraskaSC

NebraskaSC = Nebraska Storm Chaser I've been chasing storms since the early 80's, out in the plains of Nebraska. A passion to capture the moments that mother nature brings every spring summer and fall to South Central Nebraska. Yes I chase the storms, but I don't travel all that far to get these superb captures of natures fury. I seem to have a knack to be in the right place at the right time. I'm not egotistical, my photography is an extension of what I call art. Since I cannot draw, or paint, but I can get to the right place at the right time when severe weather approaches. These are a collection of my doing so.
