Artist's Description

July 29, 2012 - Kearney Nebraska US

2012 was a dry summer and the storm season was few & far between. Working constantly I had that Sunday evening off and was able to get out to get a few snaps of this oncoming storm.

That evening, we here in South Central Nebraska received some much needed moisture. Strong thunderstorms were dying as they were entering southwest Buffalo county. By they time they reached into the Kearney Nebraska area, there was no longer a warning, or of any severe nature except for some incredible cc & cg lightning strikes. As this storm cell was proceeding to the northeast it is skidded right on the outskirts of the city. Couldn't have asked for better light & storm. Many photographic gems in this set!

About NebraskaSC

NebraskaSC

NebraskaSC = Nebraska Storm Chaser I've been chasing storms since the early 80's, out in the plains of Nebraska. A passion to capture the moments that mother nature brings every spring summer and fall to South Central Nebraska. Yes I chase the storms, but I don't travel all that far to get these superb captures of natures fury. I seem to have a knack to be in the right place at the right time. I'm not egotistical, my photography is an extension of what I call art. Since I cannot draw, or paint, but I can get to the right place at the right time when severe weather approaches. These are a collection of my doing so.
