Artist's Description
April 7, 2019 - Kearney Nebraska
What an epic day turned to and outstanding night...
I had an early rise to April 6, 2019 as I spent my day at the 2019 UNL (University of Nebraska) @ Lincoln Severe Weather Symposium. Met some incredible people as a few thousand people came by our booth for StormViewLive and SVLMedia.
We were to have storms pop south of Lincoln after the event but non of them went severe. The HRRR map models had promise but I decided to head back to Kearney for the night event.
Though I was beet and extremely tired I went out for a few hours and stuck close to home. I should have traveled south down the Nebraska Kansas Border, due to the severity of the storm but it was much later in the night and I had to get some sleep.
I did capture a few nice shots as some of the storms did produce some nice lightning right over the city of Kearney.
More to come in the next few days.
About Dale Kaminski
NebraskaSC = Nebraska Storm Chaser I've been chasing storms since the early 80's, out in the plains of Nebraska. A passion to capture the moments that mother nature brings every spring summer and fall to South Central Nebraska. Yes I chase the storms, but I don't travel all that far to get these superb captures of natures fury. I seem to have a knack to be in the right place at the right time. I'm not egotistical, my photography is an extension of what I call art. Since I cannot draw, or paint, but I can get to the right place at the right time when severe weather approaches. These are a collection of my doing so.
