August 13, 2017 - West of Broken Bow Nebraska
It's not called the lazy days of summer for nothing... Hot, Humid, and Dry... That's August in Nebraska. Without any front to push. Late summer storms cells develop, linger and are mostly slow movers. Just like these cells on that day.
I overshot this part of the cell and I was already in the hail core... place I didn't want to be.
So I backed off the cell, stayed on the back end of the rotation and got south. Far enough to find that picture perfect place to get some snaps.
This cell was building and maturing. Now the cell was on a severe warning on it, as I was getting pounded with dime sized hail.... I couldn't have asked for better location to get these captures...
NebraskaSC = Nebraska Storm Chaser I've been chasing storms since the early 80's, out in the plains of Nebraska. A passion to capture the moments that mother nature brings every spring summer and fall to South Central Nebraska. Yes I chase the storms, but I don't travel all that far to get these superb captures of natures fury. I seem to have a knack to be in the right place at the right time. I'm not egotistical, my photography is an extension of what I call art. Since I cannot draw, or paint, but I can get to the right place at the right time when severe weather approaches. These are a collection of my doing so.
